Summary of CMP Publications for April to June
The Chemicals Management Plan (CMP) is a Government of Canada Initiative aimed at assessing and reducing the risks posed by chemicals to Canadians and the environment. Now underway is the assessment of the remaining 1550 priority chemicals out of the original 4300 chemicals identified as priorities. The Minister of Health and the Minister of Environment and Climate Change Canada have committed to addressing these chemicals by 2020.
Our goal is for members to be fully informed about the chemicals being assessed by the government, the reasons why, the results of the assessment, and the proposed actions to be undertaken such that any resulting business disruptions or issues are mitigated.
CA’s strategy is to actively monitor the CMP website for updates on chemicals that are important to the cosmetics and personal care products industry, inform members in a timely manner, and provide counsel on the necessary actions that need to be taken.
