CA’s Holds Fall Regulatory Workshop – 115 Join Valuable Semi-Annual Event

Posted Date: 19-December-2023

CA hosted its hybrid Fall Regulatory Workshop on December 6 in Ottawa. 76 individuals attended in-person while 39 connected into the workshop remotely!  Participants were guided through essential regulatory and policy updates from Health Canada (CHPSD, NNHPD, ROEB) and Environment Canada, and had the opportunity to engage directly with our regulators. Special guest was Jonathan Hicks, Director of International Trade and Regulatory Affairs from the U.S. Personal Care Products Council (PCPC) who provided and update on the U.S. MoCRA Implementation, focusing on facility registration and product listing. A detailed agenda including the topics covered can be found here – Fall 2023 Regulatory Workshop Agenda.

The event continued on December 7 with our Member Engagement Session in which we take time to discuss what we heard the day before from regulators and share our collective challenges, concerns and regulatory experiences – all of which help to inform CA’s strategies and advocacy efforts. The day commenced with Darren Praznik’s President’s Address and also included a deep dive into Canada’s new Cosmetics Animal Testing Ban. The meeting concluded with an “All CA Technical Committees” workshop that delved into recent developments around Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAs) and the Federal Governments Plastics initiatives.

This is one of CA’s most valuable member events, so be sure not to miss the next Regulatory Workshop to be held in the Spring of 2024 – details to come!
