Manon Bombardier Assumes New Role Within Health Canada

Posted Date: 27-October-2021

Health Canada has announced that effective November 1, Manon Bombardier will assume a new role as the Executive Lead for the Pest Management Regulatory Agency Transformation (PMRA). She will lead work on the Government’s plan to invest in and transform PMRA. As such, she will be leaving her position as Associate Assistant Deputy Minister of the Health Products and Food Branch (HPFB) at Health Canada, which she has occupied on an interim basis this past year as Pam Aung-Thin took over the Assistant Deputy Minister role in the Communications and Parliamentary Affairs Branch at HC. Pam will be returning to her substantive role in HPFB on November 1st. CA welcomes the return of Ms. Aung-Thin.

CA would like to thank and recognize Ms. Bombardier for her leadership in the development of the Self-Care Products Framework where we worked closely with her. Her efforts and support were critical in advancing the Framework, securing the Cosmetics Annex in CUSMA, developing significant flexibilities in product labelling, and addressing a host of other issues important to our members. CA also worked closely with Ms. Bombardier throughout the pandemic on meeting the meteoric demand for hand-sanitizers and other hygiene products. This included developing a host of needed regulatory flexibilities and establishing the successful Hand-Sanitizers Manufacturing Exchange.

All the best, Manon – you will be missed!
