Health Canada’s Natural Health Product Licensing Bulletin (August 2026) announces revisions to its List of Interchangeable Terms for both Natural Health Products (NHPs) & Non-Prescription Drugs (NPDs). Published to offer greater labelling flexibility and reduce administrative burden, the updated list extends interchangeable terminology to NHP health claims and low-risk skin and oral products (List D) following Health Canada monographs. While using these optional equivalent terms is permitted, any alternate wording must maintain the original authorized meaning without being false or misleading.
