Additional revisions to the Food and Drug Regulations were published on June 4, 2026, in Canada Gazette, Part II, Volume 160, No. 12 – Regulations Amending Certain Department of Health Regulations (Miscellaneous Program). The impetus of the changes to the regulations stem from:
(i) the Standing Joint Committee for the Scrutiny of Regulations (SJCSR) which identified several administrative and technical issues with the F&DR and (ii) Health Canada and
(ii) the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC). Health Canada is calling these “non-substantive issues”.
From a Good Manufacturing Practices (Division 2) perspective:
Subsection C.02.020(3) of the Food and Drug Regulations to clarify what information fabricators must maintain on their premises, including written specifications for all raw materials, evidence demonstrating that the testing of those raw materials was performed according to section C.02.009, and the results of those tests.
