Appeal Court Rules in Favour of Ottawa’s Toxic Plastic Listing

On December 20th, 2025 the government published the proposed regulations amending the Single-use Plastics Prohibition Regulations, under CEPA.  These proposed regulations will remove the ban on six categories of single use plastics, for export only.  This allows companies to continue the manufacture and sale of single use check out bags, straws, ring carriers, cutlery, food service wares, and stir sticks for non-domestic use. There is a 70-day comment period for interested parties.  Currently CA Canada does not plan to comment.  If you have interest in these amendments, please reach out to your CA Regulatory Team at regulatory@cosmeticsalliance.ca.
