March 25, 2026 an order adding 2-ethylhexyl-2-ethylhexanoate (CAS 7425-14-1) to Part 2 of Schedule 1 to the Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEPA) was published in the Canada Gazette, Part II, Volume 160, Number 6. This order is a result of the December 15, 2018 final screening assessment that concluded that the substance meets the human health criterion set out in paragraph 64(c) of the Act. This substance is already managed as part of the Cosmetic Ingredient Hotlist, so the current order is not expected to have an immediate impact on our membership.
