On June 11, 2026, Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) notified stakeholders of an update to the federal Substances Search Tool, with the addition of the Prohibition of Certain Toxic Substances Regulations, 2025 list, replacing the previous Prohibition of Certain Toxic Substances Regulations, 2012 list.
This update is intended to improve transparency and access to information related to substances management. Users of the search tool should be aware that every effort is taken to maintain accuracy but, the official legislative and regulatory texts published through the Canada Gazette and the Department of Justice remain the authoritative sources in the event of any discrepancies.
