Template Letter to Support ‘Certificate of Compliance’ to Facilitate Cosmetics Exports to China without Animal Testing
CA Canada has been pursuing high-level discussions with government officials to establish a process to allow Canadian manufacturers/producers to take advantage of opportunities to waive animal testing provisions for cosmetic imports into China. This represents a significant opportunity for our brand and custom manufacturing members with operations in Canada.
We understand that the provision to enable this animal testing waiver will be implemented on May 1, 2021. Although discussions with officials have been very productive, we have stalled on securing a list of requisite technical details that Health Canada would like to have covered to enable a solution to be tabled. We need your help to “keep the pressure on” and push for an interim process that could come into place on May 1, 2021 while we work out the final details on a more formal process.
We are asking for your support by sending an e-mail letter as soon as possible to officials imploring Health Canada to proceed with haste while highlighting what this opportunity could mean for your operations. The temple letter is attached here:
