On March 8, 2025, Environment and Climate Change Canada proposed that the class of PFAS substances, excluding fluoropolymers, meets the CEPA Section 64 criteria for listing on Schedule 1, Part 2 of CEPA. The Canada Gazette Notice can be found here. The Final State of PFAS Report and the Risk Management Approach documents were also released. The risk management approach is planned in phases, cosmetics are expected to be addressed in Phase 2, no information is yet available on the timing of each phase.
