Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) and Health Canada have launched a new Biotechnology Newsletter as part of an initiative to enhance communication and stakeholder engagement on the New Substances (Organisms) program under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 (CEPA).
The inaugural issue, released in June 2026, can be found here.
The newsletter provides updates and information related to the regulation of new living organisms in Canada and is intended to support ongoing engagement with stakeholders. It will be distributed directly by email and will not be posted on the Government of Canada website.
Members with an interest in biotechnology, biotechnology-derived products, or the New Substances (Organisms) program can subscribe by contacting the Substances Management Information Line at substances@ec.gc.ca or 1-800-567-1999 (within Canada) / 819-938-3232 (outside Canada).
