Posted Date: 2-June-2026

Health Canada is Introducing a Revised Guidance for Industry on Notifying Health Canada of Foreign Actions, effective October 1, 2026.

Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) issued a reminder regarding amendments to Schedule 3 of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 (the Export Control List), which were previously reported in the March 11th Regulatory Essentials. These amendments will come into force on June 30, 2026.

As of that date, exports of the following substances, whether on their own or contained in a product, will be subject to the Export of Substances on the Export Control List Regulations:

  • Perfluorooctanoic acid, its salts and precursors (PFOA)
  • Hexabromocyclododecane (HBCD)
  • Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs)
  • Long-chain perfluorocarboxylic acids, their salts and precursors (LC-PFCAs)
  • Ferbam

Dechlorane Plus (DP) was also added to the Export Control List; however, its listing will not come into force until December 31, 2030.
