Health Canada Automated Workflow for Prioritization (HAWPr) Webinar

Through the Chemical Substances Website Subscription Service, on May 21, 2026, Health Canada invited stakeholders to participate in a webinar on the updated Health Canada Automated Workflow for Prioritization (HAWPr) under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 (CEPA).

HAWPr is Health Canada’s computational prioritization tool used to support the identification of chemical risk assessment priorities under CEPA. The system is designed to more efficiently collect, organize, and process large volumes of chemical information from multiple sources and analytical tools. HAWPr also incorporates New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) alongside traditional data sources to help inform prioritization activities.

The webinar will provide an overview of the updated HAWPr approach, including key elements of the framework and how the tool is used to support chemical screening and prioritization activities under CEPA. The webinar follows the December 2025 publication of the updated Science Approach Document for Chemical Screening and Prioritization: Health Canada’s Automated Workflow for Prioritization (HAWPr), which was revised based on stakeholder comments received during the 2024 consultation period.

English and French webinar sessions will be held on June 15, 2026. CA staff will be in attendance, and members are encouraged to participate as well.
